Existentialism: An Art Exhibit
The Artist in Residence Program has reached its final phase. Our young artists, Bea and Kim, have completed their year-long journey with us in this final art exhibit.
Existentialism or Eksistensyalismo, the exhibit’s local title, aims to communicate the state of oneself, society, and the world through the eyes of the artists, elucidating what it means to live in the present through the paintings and sculptures on display.
Modern Art in a Historic Home
There’s nothing more captivating than modern masterpieces on display in a house with unique charm and character accumulated over the years.
The artworks were on display from July 18th to July 31st in the Molo Mansion, one of the finest historic homes in the country. This old structure has become a heritage museum and is currently serving as a venue for art exhibits, markets, fairs, special events, and photo shoots.
Xillium’s Resident Artists
Bea Gison and Kim Dela Cruz are both young, prolific, and goal-driven artists with a vivid imagination and the ability to create compelling stories through stunning artworks. They have spent months experimenting with different art forms and finding novel techniques for using paintings and sculptures to express ideas and emotions.
They are now prepared to move on to the next phase of their journey. After a year of art engagement activities spent with us, they have gained experience in exploring their creative interests, learning different art mediums, and showcasing their talents to like-minded individuals.
Artists in Residence: Program in Review
The Artists in Residence program was established with the goal of supporting young, talented, and prospective artists by providing them with funding and an avenue to showcase their skills and follow their passion.
Iloilo City is home to artists and creative minds. This program supports the art community’s growth in the city. We hope that this program will inspire other artists to pursue their passions and give back to the community through creative endeavors.
